Honda Showcases the New and Improved 2014 Honda Odyssey
The 2013 New York International Auto show is a stage where automakers bring their best and brightest vehicles to capture the attention of the automotive industry. Each year Honda brings technologies and vehicles that turn heads around the world. This year, with the unveiling of the 2014 Honda Odyssey, is again an impressive one.
The 2014 Honda Odyssey, in many respects, is much like other minivans: a sloped hood flows up to the windshield, a large space for the occupants, sliding doors along the sides, and a large tailgate. Within these standards though, Honda managed to inject attractive styling features and impressive technologies.
The front end features a prominent two-bar grille, bracketed by headlights angling inwards and down, creating a strong face. The window panes and side panel styling create a flowing aesthetic implying that this vehicle will keep you on the go. This all leads to the rear tailgate that is adorned with LED taillights, serving as a beacon to other drivers.
Stepping inside, the 2014 Odyssey features further improvements. An improved arrangement of the central instrument cluster is more intuitive and makes it easier to pilot this machine. A push button start takes another little worry off your mind, allowing you to put your attention where it’s most needed.
Speaking of peace of mind, Honda has long made it their mission to offer the industry-best safety credentials. Improving upon the 2013 model year’s stellar reputation, Honda has installed new components that increase the overall structural reinforcement of the vehicle. Additional safety technologies include front collision warning and lane departure warning.
Two other big announcements came from Honda during the unveiling: HondaLink™ and HondaVAC™.
HondaLink™, Honda’s connectivity suite, will allow you to control navigation, audio, traffic and weather information, and more all through the use of one screen in the central console. HondaVAC™, the first ever in-car vacuum cleaner, will allow you to keep each corner of your Odyssey spotless.
